Horses in the Forest...

We had a wonderful morning at Forest School today! We began by saying hello to our friendly Lime tree, with some children enjoying the soft feel of its leaves.

Our parachute games were a big hit—everyone took turns going under the parachute, and we played Popcorn, where one team tried to keep socks on the parachute while the other tried to throw them off. It was energetic, fun, and a great way to practise listening and working together.

During choosing time, the children were full of ideas. Potion making and catching ducks in the water area were very popular, while others enjoyed the swing, slack-line, and hammocks. There was lots of creativity in the sandpit, painting rocks, making paper bag kites, threading, and creating dinosaur landscapes.

A highlight was making horses, unicorns, and donkeys from odd socks, straw, and sticks with Mrs. K—children proudly explained the steps, wrapped string, tied knots, and used the glue gun for button eyes. Some are already planning to add ears and build a stable next time!

We finished by tidying up together and sharing a snack around the fire pit, with time for a few games before heading back inside. What a busy and happy day!
