A Magical Half-Day Forest School Adventure for 1P.

As part of the transition from Reception to Year One, our little explorers had an unforgettable half-day at Forest School!

They were thrilled to greet their favourite tree and embark on a sensory adventure, hunting for different textures in the forest.

Each child planted a bulb in hopes of a vibrant display of crocus flowers come spring— fingers crossed, the squirrels leave them alone! The mud kitchen was a hit, where they created delicious “dishes,” and balancing on the slack line was great fun. Coordination. The excitement continued as they crafted volcanoes in the sandpit, dug for worms in the new digging pit, and discovered mini beasts.

Working together, some children  made stunning art using natural materials and played noughts and crosses with hand-painted woodland cookies. Water exploration was a blast with whisks, syringes, and funnels, while races down the guttering allowed them to explore which materials and shapes went fastest.

We wrapped up our adventure with a lively game of 'Stick, Stick Fire', leaving everyone eager for more outdoor fun!
